"Finally, the day has come."

I used to digg the Based God, but not anymore.

In one of the boldest military operations in US History, Osama Bin Laden has been killed. I'm sure everyone has heard tons and tons about it, thanks to every American's facebook status, but I'm having some thoughts on the subject that I'd like to talk about.

Fake photo of Osama
Conspiracy? - I personally don't believe so, but there has been a ton of doubts thrown out regarding the death of Osama. The picture released by the Pakistani government (shown right) has been confirmed as a fake, and many people are questioning the President. Some are calling it an attempt for Obama to gain respect from the American people, and gain some votes for re-election. Osama has been reported as "dead" for years, and now finally this is released? I don't believe this is an attempt at re-election votes, but that has been talked about quite a bit. There will always be skeptics, that is simply the nature of the world. We buried Osama's body at sea, which is a proper Muslim burial.

Revenge - Osama Bin Laden is dead, and I don't want to bring the patriotic mood down, but just because he is dead doesn't mean terrorism is. Al-Qaeda is still a powerful group, and though we have killed their leader, they are still alive. Osama was the man they looked up to, but he has been in exile for the past 10 years, and was no longer in operation. And think of it this way, if Al-Qaeda pulled a military operation to kill OUR leader, how do you think we would react? These are the people responsible for the biggest terrorist attack on our soil in history, and I would be lying if I told you I wasn't worried they were planning some sort of revenge.

This will go down as one of the greatest days in the history of the US military, and our country as a whole. Finally, the families that we're destroyed because of 9/11 can have some sort closure now 10 years later. The main target for the United States since we entered the Middle East has been killed, a victory that we as a country needed desperately in the middle of a recession and an ongoing war on terrorism. Today makes me proud to be an American.
