One Game at a Time

Never give up, never surrender.

The Boston Celtics face a 3-1 series deficit against the Miami Heat, with a very important Game 5 tonight. Times are bleak as a Celtics fan, due to two terrible games in Miami to start the series. If the Celtics are going to pull off a comeback, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen need to contribute. After an incredible Game 3, KG was invisible in Game 4, and Ray Allen only hit two three pointers. Jeff Green needs more minutes. I know people aren't high on Jeff Green since we traded for him, but he is the one guy off our bench who can match the athleticism of the Heat, and you can tell he takes pride in shutting down LeBron James. 16 minutes for Green isn't going to cut it. If KG and Ray Allen show up, Green gets good contributions, and Delonte West continues his stellar performance off the bench, the Celtics are long from out of this series.
If you don't think its possible, here are a list of teams who have came back from a 3-1 deficet to win a series:
1968 Boston Celtics, 1970 LA Lakers, 1979 Washington Bullets, 1981 Boston Celtics, 1995 Houston Rockets, 1997 Miami Heat, 2003 Detroit Pistons, 2006 Phoenix Suns.

Celtics fans, have faith. If any team can do it in these playoff's its the Celtics. And if there is any team that could choke a series like this, its the Heat. They're young, inexperienced, and rely on three guys to do 80% of their scoring. If one of them has an off night, like Chris Bosh in Game 3, the Celtics can pull it off. LeBron is also a choke artist. Remember that.
Have Faith. It's not over yet.

World Will Change

A good friend of mine, Giddens, is an up and coming rapper out of UMass going by the name of Tha Capital G. He is a Varsity football player for the Minutemen as well as a BMOC, big man on campus. I would wager a bet that just about everyone on campus has heard of him, his songs, or knows him personally. This past week he released a new single and video entitled "World Will Change." It is a inspired song full of strong lyrics. "The song is personal, it's not a gimmick." He says, "I put my true feelings on the song, every word is true." Upon further investigation he told me that he plans to release another song and video, as well as a full album soon. "[The plan is to] have the album released by August. It's called The GarageBand Project." Be sure to watch out for him and check his other music, songs can be purchased on Itunes. Also look for up coming interviews with Tha Capital G.

Be sure to become a fan on facebook as well.

Idiot Of The Day

Waiting in line today at the d.c. trying to get some sushi I ran into an idea for a new section in the blog, Idiot Of The Day. Todays idiot is hailing from Southwest, a cluster of dorms at UMass for those that didn't know. He had a blonde curly mullet, leg brace, and a lax sweatshirt and joined me as I was waiting for my sushi to be completed and to continue on my merry way. The lax bro was asked what he wanted on his sushi. "Um, I'll take cucumber, crab, bacon, and some of the guacamole." Guacamole? You want some salsa with you sushi too? First off its weird there was bacon as a build-your-own sushi option, and second are you that poorly raised that you dont know the difference between guacamole and avocado? I laughed, the sushi chef laughed, and the whole situation flew right of that Joe Dirt's mullet probably cutting it shorter on top. Typical lax bro but I am pretty sure this mullet rocking guac eater is a poor stereotype for the lax community.

One more final then im outta here!

What is Wrong with Chris Bosh?

Fatal Crash In Giro d'Italia

Earlier this afternoon, in Italy during the 3rd stage of the Giro d'Italia, a fairly huge cycling race, Wouter Weylandt, had a fatal crash. This Belgian cyclist was traveling around 45 mph when he lost control. There were several attempts to resuscitate him and he was airlifted from the scene but after all attempts failed he was pronounced dead on site. He rode for Quick Step-Davitamon, and was beginning to rack up a decent amount of recognition. He crashed upon his descent off Passo del Bocco, in Mezzanego, Italy. He and his girlfriend were expecting their first child in september of this year.
Video is of graphic nature.

Sorry to report this depressing news but I have been a huge cycling fan ever since I was little. Much love and peace to his girlfriend and family.

Burn It!

See this is why Kevin Garnett is a fuckin' man. He just gets right in his grill and gives him fashion advice like he owns the place. KG has swag for days. Do you see LeBron telling sideline reporters to burn their clothing? Nah, he hasn't gained that right yet. Can't wait to see Garnett burn the Heat tonight like he did in Game 3.

PS- I apologize for my lack of posting. My laptop got a virus and shit the bed so I am computerless. If you wanna contribute to the get farnzy a new laptop fund you can hit me up. Just kidding, but seriously.

Fuck the Heat and Fuck the Lakers.

Bosh Spice

Heat Forward admitted to being flustered during Game 3. RETARD! Boston will be all over you! There was a reason you're the 3rd option on a team with only 3 options.. Why would you admit that? O well, I think Bosh has 11 points tonight. However, being a New York fan, I do think the Heat shock the C's tonight with no help from Bosh Spice.

Sorry El Pres

I jacked this picture off the Barstool Sports: Boston. El Pres said "Some Bro Pulling Ass way above his pay grade saying he’s me." All I have to say is what the hell is going on down below. This old creepy Jew-Fro-Ging man's boner is more massive than Ron Burgundys.

Boldy James- Jimbo

Maybe the best rapper you haven't heard of yet. Boldy James with "Jimbo"

What Not To Do: Part 2

There are many times when you get texts or emails telling you "Forward this to 10 people and then you will meet the love of your life in the next 12 hours." On Tuesday I thought I received a real one, "Hobart Hoedown. Saturday 11am sharp. No Facebook, no public forums. Send this text to 5 Umass students." This text spread like wildfire. Everyone I talked to knew about it and most people were intent on going. I, being a UMass student and a writer of this blog, felt it was my duty to arrive at 11am sharp and document, as well as fully participate in this rescheduled Hobart Hoedown. I woke up at 10, got a couple friends, and hopped on the bus to Hobart. Upon arrival we were the only ones there. Great UMass, I don't know if it was a fake text or if it was real, but either way I am greatly disappointed in my fellow school mates and slightly annoyed at the amount of anticipation I built up to Friday night. Even if it was fake, people still should've showed up and attempted to have a great day of sun tanning and beer swelling, maybe next year.

This has been another installment of what not to do, don't have faith in a mass amount of college student trying to make a plan, it never works. Also never believe those stupid texts, emails, or facebook links. Click the "like" button to see the video of Osama's death! Do you really think there is even footage? Probably not, and if there is the government has that shit on lock!

Back to studying, kicked ass on my Organic Chemistry final incase y'all were wondering.

Joker On Jack

Cruising in the car yesterday on the way to go grab some taco bell one of my favorite songs of all time came on the radio. One of those songs that I have loved forever but always forget about. Released in 1997 I was quite young and found that, even though I hadn't heard it in years I still new all the lyrics.

Blue on black,
Tears on a river,
Push on a shove, it don't mean much.
Joker on Jack,
Match on a fire

Reppin At Umass Lax

Today was the CAA championship game for UMass Lax, unfortunately they lost 7 -9 to Delaware. We were reppin' hard. But with all our demeaning comments and awesome atire (below) we were dethroned. Good job to Will Manny (above) with 2 goals and an assist. Going from tied 3 all at half time to Delaware flying in with 6 goals in the 2nd half. Good run to #16 UMass Minutemen.

Be sure to tune in to ESPNU tomorrow at 9pm to find out if UMass will be playing in the NCAA tournament.

Good Luck Minutemen

Out with the Old, In with the New

If you guys didn't notice, I didn't blog about either of the first two Celtics games. I'm a die-hard Celtics fan and I watch every game, but I couldn't bring myself to blog about them losing to the Heat. But, although it pains me to say it, I think these NBA Playoffs will go down in history as the change of tide in the "superior teams" in the NBA. Hear me out...

THE OLD

The Boston Celtics
- Everyone who knows me knows it pains me to say this, but the Celtics are looking like one of the Old powers in the NBA. With the future of the Big Three in question, and no solid Plan B, the Celtics run as a top-NBA powerhouse could be in question in the near future. Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins used to be that Plan B, but with Rondo's recent struggles, along with the Perkins trade, it leaves Boston fans wondering. Can Rondo do it by himself?

The San Antonio Spurs- From the late 90's to today, the Spurs have been an NBA powerhouse, winning 4 championships during the reign of Tim Duncan. However, the Grizzlies absolutely put it to the old, beaten up Spurs, and most people are calling the end of a dominant franchise.

The Los Angeles Lakers-
Any Lakers fan would argue with me about how their team is still in the thick of things, because Lakers fans are hard-headed. But think about it, with this being Phil Jackson's last year, who is going to take his place? Kobe is constantly injured in the playoffs with his bum ankles, and they are getting up there in age. When I watch these Lakers against the Mavericks, they just don't scare me like they used to. They still have a lot to prove, but I think this is one of the last stretches of dominance for the Lakers, unless they pick up someone new.

THE NEW

The Oklahoma City Thunder
- The Thunder, right now, are only missing one thing to be a dominant, championship team in the NBA, and that is experience. They have a scorer in Kevin Durant, one of the most athletic point guards in the league in Russell Westbrook, and two beasts on the inside in Kendrick 'Abdul-Jabbar' Perkins and Surge Ibaka. I don't feel like I need to say much about the Thunder. They are good, and they're coming for the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls- With one dominant season by MVP Derrick Rose, the Bulls have asserted themselves as a force in the Eastern Conference. After a decade of mediocre seasons, the Bulls have taken the Number 1 seed in the East this year, over Boston and Miami. They are young and talented, and should be in the thick of things for the near future. If Derrick Rose plays like he has been, there is no stopping them.

The Memphis Grizzlies- Once the playoffs started, the 8 seeded Memphis Grizzlies showed the rest of the NBA what they were all about. With two dominant big men in Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol, they ended the reign of the San Antonio Spurs and are currently in a tight series with the Thunder. They're young, so don't sleep on the Grizz.

HONORABLE MENTION: Miami Heat. Everyone knows the Heat are up and coming in the NBA, I just hate them so much I don't want to talk about them.

Much Respect to Gary Williams

Gary Williams, long time Maryland basketball coach, retired yesterday third all time in ACC wins. He resurrected the program from the ashes in 1989, when the Terrapins were still in the after-shock of the death of Len Bias. He brought Maryland a National Championship in 2002, and posted a 461-252 record in 22 seasons at his alma-mater. He announced his retirement just one day after 1st team all-ACC player Jordan Williams signed an agent for the NBA Draft. If Maryland gets a new head coach who is half as good as Gary Williams, they should be satisfied.

Dear Readers, Good Morning

It is way too early but that is what finals do to you. Yesterday I finished writing a 5 page paper, had a Greek Mythology test, it was pretty easy but still, its a test. Then had my Organic Chemistry final. Definitely the worst/hardest class I have ever taken. I rounded out the day with a quick visit to my girlfriend, and preceded back to my room to memorize about 50 pintings that I hadn't even looked at until last night. Now, with my ass up at 8 am I needed a break from memorizing and need some Kanye in my head. Some motivation. So here y'all go, Good Morning.

News flash, I Just had to write the code for that youtube link. WTF, Youtube decided not to work today and it wouldn't give me the embed link or allow me to sign in.

On another side note, if you haven't seen Kanye West's video for All Of The Lights It says this:
Good work Kanye, good work.

Off to continue finals, sorry for the lack of posts, i'll be going hard again tonight.
